Visiting

A resident, Doug Hickey, took this photo. It is a photo of the beautiful sunset setting on an old barn in the middle of a piece of property.

This section of the website contains relevant information for people visiting the Municipality of Whitestone, such as a dining guide, local attractions, recreational trail information, and helpful tips and friendly guidelines.

Whitestone has something for everyone in every season: lakes and rivers for fishing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking. Wilderness camping opportunities are available, as well as deep woodlands with gorgeous fall colours, miles of snowmobile trails, dazzling sunsets, and loads of fresh air and tranquillity to lift one’s spirits.

Whitestone is a charming and vibrant community made up of permanent and seasonal residents from all walks of life – a mix of rural and cottage country. We are few in numbers but strong in spirit: a spirit of caring and generosity that stems from the early pioneers who faced adversity with establishing this area.

We hope you will take advantage of our two walking trails (Whitestone Lake Trail and Nesbitt Trail), playground facilities at the Dunchurch Beach, the Maple Island Thrift Shop, and the public landings on significant lakes in the Municipality. There is lots to explore in the area.

The Municipality of Whitestone wishes all visitors a safe and happy visit. Please remember to observe all recommended precautions and restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
